Together with having one of the best courses in the area, we boast a large Clubhouse with views to match any dining facility in the area. Our friendly Bar & Catering team serve a wide range of high quality homemade, freshly prepared food daily. We have a large selection of beers, wines and soft drinks available, so you are sure to not leave the Club thirsty after your visit!

 

 

Outstanding Facilities

The course is just one of the great facilities on offer at the Club. Others include:

• Fully licensed Bar, with ability to accommodate large external functions.
• Reasonably priced, homemade food served daily by our in-house caterers and waiting staff.  
• We are one of only a handful of catering establishments in Saffron Walden to have been awarded the top Food Hygiene rating scheme score of 5 (very good).

• Dining room, with seating capacity of 140.
• Golf lessons.
• Clubhouse open 363 days a year.
• Pro Shop open 364 days a year.

In conjunction with the above we have a recently renovated practice range with all playing areas fully covered with Huxley Turf - the best artificial surface to hit golf balls from. There are distance markers for the full distance of the range, as well as practice flags to aim at. There is also a small practice bunker to tidy up your short bunker shots.

We also have a practice putting green located near the first tee, together with 4 driving nets to get into the swing before your round. Our brand new chipping green is the best facility in the county, provinding players the chance to replicate shots from all lies and stances as if on the course.  Built containing a large number of different grasses, all cut to different lengths, you will not find a more comprehensive area within which to practice your short game.

 

GolfMark

Saffron Walden Golf Club are pleased to be signed up as a registered GolfMark and ClubMark venue. GolfMark is awarded to a Club who promote and encourage golf to juniors of all ages and abilities, whilst ensuring they are safe whilst playing the game.

A number of new procedures and guidelines have been adopted by the Club which shows our determination to encourage and protect all juniors playing golf at our Club.
